When you scale up wine production, you lose out on the identity of the wines. Most wines you may be familiar with need to achieve very large scale to create that brand familiarity and while these brands can still make high quality wines, they become more focused on recreating what you expect to taste and less about creating what that wine is supposed to taste like. The market also hyper-focuses on about 8 varietals, so the inventory available in some markets may not be able to be replicated which is a big reason we feel we are onto something special. We feel that at the average $40 price point, our wine and pairings are an exceptional value.

Shipping wine is expensive, and by shipping three at a time we can defray those costs by about 80% and ensure you are paying as little per bottle as possible. Regardless of your subscription type or if you just purchase one of our individual tasting experiences you by all means can spread out when you make the recipes and drink the wines to ensure you get to truly enjoy each experience and don’t feel rushed.

Just like anything, it takes practice. Reinvigorating the passion for home scratch cooking and pairing wines that go exceptionally well with those recipes is the soul of what we are hoping to achieve. That being said, we understand everyone has varying levels of confidence in the kitchen which is why we have step by step instructions and every wine includes 3 recipes of varying difficulty to execute so you will always have a range of options that allow all levels of home cooks to participate and enjoy the harmony between the food & wine.

We totally understand, and we know that everyone has varying taste preferences as well as possible biases given their history with certain wines. We hope you will approach this process through the lens of curiosity and, over time, through a combination of wine education & contextualized pairings, we feel we will be able to give each wine a chance to truly shine. Part of this journey is learning about new wines, and possibly giving wines you haven’t enjoyed in the past a chance to be revisited within the context of well paired foods, but if you’re ever dissatisfied with the quality of a wine or feel the wine arrived in a “faulty” state we will work with you to make it right.
